In aircraft interiors, design does not end with the choice of a colour or pattern. A curtain has to support the cabin’s visual identity while responding to the technical requirements of the aviation environment.
Designing a real cabin
Modern Shade is part of Industrial Neotex’s new Fastrack curtain collection for Airbus. Its contemporary geometric language and adaptable palette are intended to work across different cabin concepts.
Creativity becomes valuable when it can be translated into real use: pattern scale, visibility at cabin distance, integration with seats and surfaces, maintenance and material behaviour. This is why AeroDrape aircraft curtain solutions are developed by considering design, material and application together.
Creativity within a technical framework
Cabin materials must be developed within airworthiness and fire-performance requirements. For large aeroplanes, the European certification framework is set out in EASA CS-25.
These requirements influence material selection, finishing and process decisions. The purpose is not to restrict creativity, but to integrate technical constraints early enough for the design intent to remain consistent through industrialisation.
Materials and functionality in the collection
The Fastrack collection is developed in Trevira CS and wool/PA blends, with Modern Shade positioned within this family of cabin textile solutions. Material and construction choices still need to be assessed against the requirements of each programme and final configuration.
Industrial Neotex combines textile development with certification capabilities to support this process. See also Industrial Neotex’s certifications and the 2026 textile collection.
Design that works in the cabin
Modern Shade expresses a simple principle: in aviation, strong design is design that retains its visual intent when it becomes a real cabin component. Form, material, certification and use need to move forward together.
