Expanding beyond borders: new capabilities for the global aviation industry
Over 40 years, Industrial Neotex has evolved from its textile roots into a company specialising in aircraft interior textiles. In this fourth chapter of our anniversary series, we revisit a decisive period from 2008 to 2015, when broader industrial capabilities began to support a more international presence.
Growth meant getting closer to both product and customer
Expansion beyond Spain was not an isolated commercial move. It was built on a broader industrial base, accumulated technical knowledge and a commitment to support aviation programmes with increasingly complete solutions.
The addition of Casarrubios del Monte reinforced an integrated industrial model in which different areas of expertise contribute to a shared value proposition. From materials to finished parts, our aircraft cabin solutions are developed to address technical, aesthetic and operational requirements.
At the same time, the addition of seat cushions broadened our capabilities around the aircraft seat and moved the portfolio towards a more complete offer. This was not simply about adding products; it was about coordinating materials, manufacturing, documentation and quality within an aviation environment.
Everett: proximity to a major aviation hub
During this period, Industrial Neotex opened facilities in Everett, Washington, one of Boeing’s major industrial locations.
This presence strengthened our proximity to the aircraft manufacturer and the US aerospace ecosystem, enabling closer interaction and a better understanding of market requirements. The facilities remained operational until their closure during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Being closer to one of the world’s leading aerospace ecosystems offered a practical way to listen to the market, reduce distance and build working relationships from a global perspective.
For an aircraft interior textile supplier in Europe, internationalisation requires more than a commercial presence. It requires industrial consistency, traceability, adaptability and a common technical language with OEMs, airlines and maintenance organisations.
Industrial capability that opens markets
The combination of facilities, technical textile expertise and a broader portfolio created a stronger platform for international opportunities. Products including aircraft seat covers and made-to-measure aircraft carpet contribute to an offer focused on cabin integration and programme-specific needs.
This development was supported by a quality culture aligned with the international aerospace environment. The 9100 family of standards, developed within the IAQG ecosystem, provides a common reference for aviation, space and defence quality management systems.
Expansion built step by step
The 2008–2015 period connected industrial capability, portfolio diversification and international reach. It created a stronger foundation for working across a global value chain while preserving the textile knowledge and proximity that have defined Industrial Neotex from the beginning.
Forty years after our foundation, that lesson remains relevant: expanding is not simply about entering new markets. It is about building the capabilities required to create value wherever the customer operates.
In the next 40th Anniversary chapter, we will move into a new phase of industrial transformation and digitalisation.
