The Origins | 1987–1996

Industrial Neotex began with a foundation that still defines the company today: textile knowledge, industrial capability and careful control of every stage of the manufacturing process.

Although Industrial Neotex was founded in Madrid in 1986, the industrial project that would shape its future development began to consolidate from 1987 onwards.

During its first decade, the company progressively expanded its capabilities, incorporated new technical expertise and established the foundations for its future specialisation in textile solutions for aircraft interiors.

Madrid: the beginning of an industrial project

Madrid was the starting point for Industrial Neotex.

From its earliest years, the company followed a clear industrial approach, combining material expertise, manufacturing care and the ability to respond to specific customer requirements.

These principles would later become essential when operating in industries where quality, precision and traceability are critical.

Sabadell: textile knowledge and tradition

The development of activities in Sabadell strengthened Industrial Neotex’s connection with one of Spain’s most established textile manufacturing regions.

This presence expanded the company’s expertise in fabrics, finishes and production processes, consolidating technical capabilities that would later be applied to increasingly demanding products.

Textile craftsmanship involved more than manufacturing. It required an understanding of fibre behaviour, the careful selection of materials and the adaptation of each development to its intended application.

Crevillente: building carpet manufacturing expertise

The establishment of operations in Crevillente 1992 represented another important step in the company’s industrial development.

The region’s extensive experience in carpet manufacturing helped Industrial Neotex strengthen its capabilities in textile design, construction and finishing.

This expertise would later provide an essential foundation for the development and manufacture of aircraft cabin carpets.

1996: introducing leather

In 1996, Industrial Neotex incorporated leather into its material portfolio.

This expansion enabled the company to address new applications and progress towards a more comprehensive interior offering, combining different materials, processes and finishes.

The introduction of leather also marked a move towards products with more demanding technical, aesthetic and functional requirements.

From textile roots to specialisation

Between 1987 and 1996, Industrial Neotex established the foundations for its future development.

Madrid provided the company’s industrial and entrepreneurial origin. Sabadell strengthened its knowledge of fabrics. Crevillente expanded its specialist carpet manufacturing capabilities. The introduction of leather opened new opportunities for interior applications.

Together, these milestones created a combination that remains central to the company today: textile craftsmanship, industrial specialisation and the ability to adapt materials and processes to each application.

Four decades after its foundation, Industrial Neotex continues to build on these roots while developing certified textile solutions for airlines, OEMs and MROs.

On July 15th, 1986, Ángel Hernanz Serradilla founded Industrial Neotex with a clear vision: to build a company rooted in textile expertise, industrial precision and long-term commitment.

Four decades later, that vision still defines who we are.

What began as a company specialized in textile solutions has evolved into a certified aircraft textile manufacturer. Today, we work with airlines, OEMs and MROs across international programs.

Reaching 40 years is more than a milestone. It is the result of a journey built on adaptation, specialization and continuous improvement.

A new perspective on textile design in the cabin

In aircraft interiors, textiles are no longer purely decorative elements. Curtains and carpets help define the cabin atmosphere, influence passengers’ perception of comfort and contribute to the airline’s visual identity.

At the same time, every material must meet demanding technical requirements. Safety, durability, maintenance, weight and certification all shape each design decision.

From Neotex’s design and textile development team, we see a clear evolution: airlines and manufacturers are looking for solutions that are more sustainable, lighter, more expressive and better aligned with the cabin experience.

This article opens a content series dedicated to presenting Neotex’s new 2026 textile collection. Over the coming months, we will explore its different dimensions: curtains, carpets, recycled materials, visual comfort, lightness, certification and adaptation to cabin programmes.

Designing for aviation: creativity with technical requirements

Designing textiles for aviation means translating a visual intention into a viable cabin solution.

The new carpet collection incorporates 100% recycled nylon in lightweight solutions. This approach makes it possible to combine design, resistance to use and weight reduction compared with traditional compositions.

In curtains, the collection includes options such as Trevira CS with recycled content and alternatives based on wool and polyamide blends. Each composition responds to different needs in use, perception and maintenance.

Certification remains the starting point. In the cabin, textile innovation only has value if it can be integrated into materials suitable for aviation use, with traceability, validation and compliance with the applicable requirements.

From 14 to 16 April, Neotex took part in Aircraft Interiors Expo 2026 at Hamburg Messe, in a particularly significant edition as the event marked its 25th anniversary.

A key meeting point for the aircraft interiors industry

AIX once again brought together the global aircraft interiors community, with more than 450 exhibitors, 192 airlines and over 13,000 attendees, consolidating its role as a key platform to identify trends, build relationships and present solutions for the cabin of the future.
